The cervical spine is the uppermost section of the vertebral column, specifically, your neck. It consists of seven vertebrae starting from the base of the skull down to the thoracic spine. It has a few important roles such as supporting the weight of our heavy heads. It’s also the protector of the spinal cord. We want to maintain the health and freedom of movement here as this bundle of nerves is the main communication center for the brain to the body. The nerves branching from the cervical vertebrae also transmit sensation and movement into the arms, hands, and upper body.
This class is designed to eliminate the tension in our necks by releasing the tightness in our back bodies, glide through the cervical nerves and create dynamic strength through our spine and abdominals. You’ll leave the class feeling lighter and with tools to achieve better posture.
